Because the way we’re supported impacts not just what we do… but who we become.

At the heart of Sparked Potential is Kaye Meadows - founder, consultant, coach, and someone who has spent more than 20 years immersed in the world of learning and development.

I didn’t start Sparked Potential to build a business.
I started it because of what I experienced.

There was a time in my career where I stopped feeling like I was growing…
and started feeling like I was slowly shrinking.
Not because I didn’t care.
Not because I wasn’t capable.

But because of the way I was being managed.

I had a manager who constantly questioned my capability…
checked every detail of my work…
criticised everything I did…
and treated me differently to everyone else in the team.

I doubted my ability, my confidence was shot, and I even questioned my worth.

And over time, it gets to you, it broke me.

And the hardest part?

From the outside, nothing looks wrong.

Why This Matters To Me

That experience didn’t just frustrate me.
It changed me.

It made me realise how much impact a manager has—
not just on performance… but on how someone feels about themselves.

I’ve seen brilliant, capable people start to doubt who they are
because of the environment they’re in.

And I’ve also seen what happens when that changes.

When someone finally feels heard.
When expectations are clear.
When feedback actually helps.
When a manager shows up in a way that builds, not breaks.

Everything shifts.

Confidence comes back.
Energy returns.
Performance follows.

That’s the difference good management makes.

And that’s why I care so much about this work.

What Drives Me

I don’t do this because I love “learning and development.”

I do this because I know what it feels like
to be on the receiving end of poor management…
and how quietly damaging it can be.

And I care about changing that.

Because behind every role is a person
trying to do a good job…
trying to feel confident…
trying to feel like they’re getting it right.

When managers are supported to lead properly,
they don’t just improve results. They change someone’s experience of work.

They change how someone sees themselves. And that matters more than most organisations ever measure.

Beyond the Workplace

And this doesn’t start at work.

The confidence to speak up.
The courage to try.
The resilience to keep going when something feels hard.

That all starts much earlier.

That’s why I also work with students, educators, and parents.

Because the same patterns show up everywhere.

The hesitation.
The self-doubt.
The fear of getting it wrong.

And just like in the workplace…
when someone is supported in the right way, everything changes.

They speak up.
They try.
They grow.

How I Show Up

Not in pretending.

A Little About Me

Outside of work, I like to keep life interesting... I'm a B-licence skydiver with more than 100 jumps, and yes - every single one still gets my heart racing! 
I've even competed in the British Indoor Skydiving Nationals Championships- proving I love a challenge as much as a thrill. 
Don't worry, I haven't launched any clients out of a plane in the name of team building... although, if you're feeling brave, I could be persuaded! 

When I'm not in the air, you'll often find me dancing my heart out going to festivals and soaking up live music, or hitting the road in our family camper van, discovering new places and creating memories wherever we go. 
I also love adventures across the world, whether that's exploring new cultures, hiking in stunning landscapes, or seeking out experiences that push me out of my comfort zone. 
Life is for experiencing fully, and I try to bring that same sense of curiosity and energy into everything I do - both personally and professionally.
